Brightpoint Community College invites applications from highly motivated individuals to apply for the Coordinator of Continuing Student Advising position. As part of the Help Hub team, the Coordinator and staff collaborate with others to assist students across various needs, ensuring holistic and personalized advising support throughout their educational journey. The Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of professional and transfer advisors. Additionally, the Coordinator oversees the Great Expectations Program team, providing academic, financial, and personal support to students affiliated with the Virginia Foster Care System. This position supports students at both campuses and may need to work evening or weekend shifts as needed.
The Coordinator works closely with internal and external partners for advising and transfer purposes as well as management of student barriers. Minimum Qualifications:
Proficiency in the use of PeopleSoft, EAB Navigate, Canvas, Microsoft Office, Google suite preferred. Must possess the ability to provide service to a diverse population of customers. Must possess ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly sensitive information. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check will be required. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, occasional weekends and teleworking if required.Additional Considerations:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Master’s Degree in student affairs in higher education, higher education, counseling or related field.
Prior experience at a college or university.
