Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulatory Officer - Field Based - 31634
We are seeking a Regulatory Officer to join the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) team within Batteries, WEEE and Shipments, part of Environmental Markets and Regulation. The team is national with officers based across England. National travel and overnight stays will be required.
You will regulate a range of businesses operating within the Producer Responsibility regime, ensuring producers, reprocessors and exporters of waste comply with their responsibilities. The role is field-based and varied, with duties including audits, enforcement, data analysis, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
* Undertake audits (on site and virtual)
* Take appropriate enforcement action when necessary
* Disrupt non-compliance
* Collate and analyse complex data to support evidence-based regulatory decisions
* Handle confidential and sensitive information within data protection guidelines
* Contribute to the development and improvement of processes and procedures
The role requires the ability to work as part of a dispersed team while remaining self-motivated and disciplined.

Full UK driving licence is essential. No specific degree is required; training will be provided. Flexible working patterns, including job share, are welcome.

The team includes Regulatory Officers, Senior Technical Officers, and Digital Specialists. The Environment Agency aims to improve recycling quality, monitor industry compliance, and follow the Regulators code.
