Join us as a Maintenance Electrician at Amey
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Electrician to join our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account at HMP Lowdham Grange. This on-site role involves supporting the safe, clean, and efficient operation of prisons across England and Wales.
Role Details:
* Standard hours: 39 hours/week, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure Health & Safety standards are met across the contract
* Respond promptly to breakdowns, carrying out work safely and efficiently
* Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance, diagnosing and replacing failed domestic electrical components
* Fault finding and problem solving on electrical systems
* Test and inspect electrical installations according to IEE wiring regulations
* Undertake electrical installation activities based on provided designs and regulations
* Monitor and order critical spares, oversee the BMS system
* Support sustainability initiatives and additional tasks as directed
Qualifications & Experience:
* Technical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ Level 3+)
* BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition preferred
* Experience with electrical systems, maintenance, testing, and regulations
* Ability to work independently and at heights
We will support your upgrade to the 18th Edition if you currently hold the 17th Edition. Additional skills in fire alarm and CCTV systems are desirable but not essential.
