The Position: Applications Engineer
As an Application Engineer, you will bridge the gap between the technical and business sides of product and customer support. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting solutions for customers, ensuring that the product meets their technical and functional requirements. This role involves working closely with production teams, sales teams, and customers to provide technical expertise and support.
For the successful Applications Engineer, our client is offering
1. Salary up to £42K Per annum
2. Days position – Monday to Thursday 8.30AM – 5.00PM (30min lunch) Friday 8.30AM – 1.30PM
3. Permanent position
4. Immediate starts available, but also happy to work with a notice period

The role - Applications Engineer
10. Understand customer needs and provide expert advice on product functionality, technical capabilities, and potential customisations
11. Collaborate with customers to define technical requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely solutions
12. Provide technical support to the sales team during the pre-sales process
13. Develop 3D models using CAD software to create and modify engineering designs and components
14. Collaborate with engineering teams to transform concepts into fully detailed 3D designs for manufacturing
15. Generate T/WIN (technical or wiring) drawings, engineering/component drawings, and assembly instructions
16. Produce clear, accurate, and detailed work instructions for manufacturing processes
17. Assist in resolving design and performance-related challenges that arise during the product life cycle
18. Offer technical assistance and guidance to dealers, providing them with the necessary tools and information to support the product effectively
19. Ensure that all product designs and engineering processes comply with relevant industry standards and regulations
20. Provide advice on best practices and assist in maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

What our client is looking for in an Applications Engineer:
Education:
32. Qualification to HNC or degree level in Mechanical Engineering
Working experience:
33. Previous experience in an engineering or application engineering role, preferably with hands-on experience in 3D modelling and FEA
Competence and skills:
34. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, etc.)
35. Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and techniques
36. Experience with technical drawing software and standards
37. Experience in producing hydraulic and/or electrical schematics
38. Understanding of engineering materials and manufacturing processes
39. Analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in a troubleshooting capacity
40. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
41. Good I.T. skills, including MS Office and the SAP ERP System
42. Fluent verbal and written English
