Job Description
Our client is looking for a Field Electrical Technician on a full-time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Wokingham and offshore/overseas, the technician will be responsible for offshore installation, commissioning, fault finding, and data interpretation for the INTEGRI range of instrumentation, in line with project schedules and quality standards. This includes completing project deliverables for monitoring systems within the energy sector.
This role requires proven ability to maintain positive communication with the project client, demonstrate the ability to identify, analyze, and address project queries from the client, and work under pressure to ensure project deadlines are met. The technician will also maintain close cooperation with the Project Manager and the project team.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Onsite installation, commissioning, and maintenance of systems, including offshore trips.
* Troubleshooting issues during offshore installation and maintenance.
* Collaborating with the Service Manager to deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Assembly and testing of systems, working with engineering disciplines and operational/workshop technicians, including hands-on testing and troubleshooting.
* Managing documentation in compliance with internal processes and ISO9001 standards.
* Communicating with offshore/operations teams, third-party stakeholders, customers, and subcontractors.
* Working with procurement for system component sourcing.
* Producing project documentation and reports as required.
* Managing rental equipment shipments, returns, servicing, and re-stocking.
* Understanding systems prior to deployment.
* Successfully installing and commissioning project scope.
* Testing and installing hardware and software.
* Completing project documentation, including lessons learned, non-conformance reports, change notes, SIT reports, installation, and maintenance reports.
Requirements
* Legal right to work in the UK.
* HNC/HND in Electronics/Electrical Engineering; degree preferred.
* Field experience.
* Experience with cable termination, power, and networking.
* Fault-finding skills using multimeters, oscilloscopes, current meters, etc.
* Troubleshooting and recommending remedies.
* IT literacy, troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of IP addresses, DNS, NTP.
* PLC experience is desirable.
* NMEA/MODBUS experience is advantageous.
* Mechanical experience is desirable.
* Experience with installation report auditability and daily progress reporting.
* Offshore training and certification preferred but not mandatory; full training provided.
* Flexibility to work offshore for extended periods, including weekends and holidays.
* European visa/passport is an advantage.
* Living within a commutable distance to Wokingham.
