AES (Aircraft Engineering Services Ltd) is inviting applications for Trainee Mechanics to be based at Edinburgh Airport, working in cooperation with our client airline Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline. The role is part of a 12‑week initial training programme designed to provide hands‑on training and valuable experience for individuals interested in pursuing a career as an Aircraft Mechanic and Engineer. Successful candidates will then be based at our Edinburgh Line Station.
Duties
* Supervised scheduled and non‑scheduled maintenance tasks on Ryanair’s fleet of Boeing 737‑800 and 737‑8200 aircraft.
* Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery support.
* Base husbandry and housekeeping.
* Maintaining a safe and compliant working environment, adhering to all company procedures, policies and regulations.
* Any other tasks as directed by Supervisor / Manager.
Requirements
All candidates must have a clean criminal record, a Full Manual Driving License, and the unrestricted right to live and work in the country where the role is located, with a valid passport.
Qualifications & Experience
* Engineering qualification (desirable).
* Experience in a similar mechanical role such as a motor vehicle mechanic, electrician or fabricator (desirable).
* Keen interest in engineering.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (essential).
