About the Role of a SEN Teaching Assistant:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with ASD.
* Assist in the development and delivery of personalised learning plans.
* Support students in managing their sensory and communication needs in a positive manner.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
* Encourage social interaction and engagement in learning activities.
* Help create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to relevant staff and parents/carers.
* Assist with classroom preparation.
Requirements for a SEN Teaching Assistant:
Essential:
* Experience working with children or young people with ASD or Special Educational Needs or experience working in care.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
