We are looking to recruit a Medical Receptionist to join our established friendly team. This is for 19 hours per week. You will have the ability to work in a demanding environment and be committed to delivering excellent care to patients and providing support to our clinical team. Experience of working within Primary Care is essential, and knowledge of SystmOne is desired but not essential, as we will provide all mentoring and training relevant to the role.
Responsibilities include:
1. Reporting to the Practice Leadership and supported by the ELM Head Office team, ensure that the service provided to patients meets the good standard of CQC through a cohesive and team-driven experience.
2. Facilitate change in the health and wellbeing of patients by enabling patient access and directing them to the best service for their needs.
3. Document contemporaneous and accurate notes and coding into the clinical system.
4. Work as part of the team to achieve good outcomes in CQC, QOF, enhanced services, and local improvement schemes.
5. Ensure awareness of statutory and local procedures, including referral systems, coding, summarising, processing requests, and administration.
6. Recognize signs and symptoms related to safeguarding.
7. Assess problems presented opportunistically by patients, managing their admin and support needs.
8. Obtain and document informed consent, chaperone, provide information, and record changes in circumstances (verbal or written).
9. Follow infection control and cleaning guidelines.
10. Monitor and manage maintenance of stock and equipment, including refrigeration and emergency equipment, under CQC requirements.
11. Provide health education by directing patients to appropriate staff, pharmacies, leaflets, and online guidance.
12. Contribute a Medical Receptionist perspective to the practice development plan.
Candidates should have excellent communication skills, a friendly and compassionate nature, and a strong customer service aptitude. A flexible attitude, willingness to develop, and adaptability to change are essential.
