I’m delighted to be supporting a genuinely lovely primary school in the Normanton area of Wakefield, and they’re on the lookout for a caring, enthusiastic Year 1/2 Teacher to join their team straight after the May school holidays.

About the Role
This is a full-time, long-term position within a school that really does feel like a community. Staff support one another, the leadership team is approachable, and you’ll be given the space and time to properly settle into the role. This isn’t a short-term “in and out” placement, it’s a chance to become a valued part of the school family.
Within this role, you’ll be:
* Creating fun, engaging lessons that inspire curiosity
* Supporting Year 1/2 pupils across phonics, writing, maths, and the wider curriculum
* Building a calm, nurturing and positive classroom atmosphere
* Working closely with a supportive KS1 team and parents
* Getting involved in wider school life and contributing to the school’s brilliant community feel
What We’re Looking For
The ideal person is someone who brings both expertise and genuine heart to the classroom. You’ll need:
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
* Recent experience in KS1, ideally within Year One
* Strong understanding of the curriculum and confidence delivering high-quality phonics
* A positive, child-centred approach to teaching
* Good classroom organisation and behaviour management
* A real passion for helping children flourish academically and personally
