About the role
The research officer will work with Professors Justin Cobb and Paul Dolan from the LSE to value different surgical interventions through revealed and stated preference methods and the monetisation of wellbeing. This research will generate robust monetary valuations of health outcomes associated with various orthopaedic procedures, enabling more informed resource allocation decisions within healthcare.
Responsibilities
The research officer will be responsible for designing and implementing stated preference surveys (such as discrete choice experiments), and analysing revealed preference data to estimate the value patients and the public place on different surgical outcomes. They will develop methodologies for converting wellbeing impacts into monetary terms, drawing on subjective wellbeing valuation techniques.
Qualifications
* Completed PhD in Economics, Behavioural Science or a closely related field.
* Experience with database design, data management and data governance.
* Programming proficiency in R and Python.
* Knowledge of basic research methods and statistical procedures.
* Knowledge of designing and implementing stated preference surveys.
* Knowledge of analysing revealed preference data.
* Knowledge of monetary valuations of health outcomes.
* Relevant research experience: 3–5 years.
