Learning Support Assistant looking for an interesting change?
You’ll be working for a national charity that delivers supported internships for young people with autism or learning disabilities.
The programme blends classroom-based learning (covering employability and functional skills) with hands-on work experience, and supports each young person throughout the journey.
This is a varied and rewarding role. Typically, you'll spend two or three days a week in the classroom, supporting tutors during lesson delivery, and then two or three days out and about as a Job Coach (the balance between classroom and in work support could change). That means visiting young people at their work placements, helping them understand their roles, liaising with employers for feedback, and supporting with any reasonable adjustments needed in the workplace. You’ll also help with the practical side of getting to and from work.
Access to your own vehicle is essential due to the outreach nature of the role.
We're looking for someone with experience working with young people—ideally those with SEND, particularly autism or learning disabilities. This role could be a great fit for a Teaching Assistant looking to do something different, or a Youth Worker with the right experience.
