RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) is the interface between the RWE Group’s operating companies and global wholesale markets for energy and energy-related raw materials. It is a leading European energy trading house.
We, the “Site Reliability Engineering” Team, are positioned within RWEST IT with team members located across Essen (Germany), Swindon, and London (United Kingdom). Our team supports various applications, analyzes systems (ETRM, RISK, etc.), researches problems, maintains systems, coordinates activities, and develops cloud-native and internal/external application tools in the energy market. The Endur Analyst role focuses on ensuring the stability of Endur by monitoring infrastructure and assisting the business with daily issues such as trade capture, APM services, EoD maintenance, etc. Responsibilities include maintaining system reliability through problem-solving, engaging with users to define business needs, and working closely with stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently in an incident and problem management context, including CI/CD deployment.
1. Provides operational support by analyzing systems, researching issues, and coordinating maintenance of various applications.
2. Enhances processes through innovative ideas, automation, and monitoring improvements using platforms like Elastic and Grafana.
3. Performs daily infrastructure and health checks, identifies root causes of failures, and coordinates fixes with development teams.
4. Works with ION-ENDUR to ensure management of end-of-day data and workflows.
5. Gather specific requirements from business and IT teams to provide solutions via incident and service request management.
6. Collaborates with business and IT stakeholders for quick issue resolution, incident management, and configuration activities.
7. Works within a DevOps model with development teams and business stakeholders to develop enhancements and coordinate changes.
8. Coordinates and contributes to bug fixes, change requests, and improvements in collaboration with ETRM stakeholders.
9. Participates in shift rotations with 24/7 on-call availability and occasional travel.
10. Involved in migrating legacy applications to cloud-based projects (AWS) and multi-account setups.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Science or higher in IT/Computer Science or similar, with basic knowledge of the ETRM domain and experience with Endur modules like Trading Manager and Market Manager. Experience with APM, simulations, EOD batch/risk reports, and trade lifecycle management is required. Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, JVS, OpenComponents) and databases (Oracle, RDS) is essential. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work under pressure and in an agile environment, are expected. Interest in expanding IT operations within Endur and adopting best practices and DevOps is desirable.
