Responsibilities:
* Explain financial requirements and insurance/third-party payor hospitalization benefits to patients or responsible parties.
* Interpret and provide information regarding patient copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, and lifetime maximums.
* Collect patient liabilities and arrange payment plans.
* Apply applicable Community Benefit and Prompt Pay discounts.
* Meet with Medicare-exhausted patients and evaluate additional payment sources.
* Assess patients lacking proper benefits for behavioral health services for additional payment sources.
* Review long-stay patients to ensure proper coverage.
* Follow up on missing insurance/financial forms identified by the registration team.
* Complete Missed MSP questionnaires to finalize insurance billing.
Special Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years of insurance benefit experience required.
* Epic experience preferred.
* Health Insurance Navigator Certification preferred.
Schedule: 40/80 Full-Time Days, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
Note: This position is a permanent replacement for a striking employee. Employment is subject to performance standards and conditions of employment at Butler Hospital.
