Senior Assistant Accountant – Accounts Receivable / Revenue Recognition
Location: North London (Hybrid)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000

Are you an experienced accounts receivable professional with a sharp eye for detail and a solid grasp of revenue recognition? We’re hiring on behalf of a well-established business looking for a Senior Assistant Accountant to support their finance team. Based in a brand-new head office in North London, this hybrid role offers the chance to work across a dynamic, fast-paced organisation, supporting key client accounts and month-end reporting.
Key responsibilities:
* Prepare and submit monthly income returns for major clients
* Raise sales invoices and allocate cash receipts accurately
* Investigate invoice discrepancies and support income reconciliations
* Post journals with correct nominal and VAT codes
* Reconcile bank accounts weekly
* Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting
* Liaise with Sales and Account Managers to analyse unbilled labour and expenses
* Support wider finance team and Finance Manager with ad-hoc tasks
Essential skills and experience:
* AAT-qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
* 5+ years in a finance role within a medium-sized business
* Strong experience in accounts receivable and revenue recognition
* Solid Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, etc.)
* Comfortable working independently and within a team
* Detail-oriented, organised, and deadline-driven
Desired:
* Experience preparing statutory and management accounts
* Familiar with SAGE 50/200/Intacct
* Experience working with large data sets
