Role Overview
You will be joining Legal Director Zoe Brodrick and her team, who deal with multi-track low value Medical Negligence cases (including proceedings) nationally, with wide ranging types of claims valued up to £50k. The types of cases are vast and include missed fractures, delays in diagnosis, negligent surgical procedures, ophthalmic and fatal cases involving adults and children. This is a hybrid role, working 2 days onsite in our Sheffield office location.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing your own caseload of sub £50k
* Taking instructions from clients and assisting with the giving of legal advice, including obtaining medical and other evidence, pre‑action protocol work, instructing counsel and cases in proceedings to achieve appropriate resolutions for the clients.
* Achieving time recording and fee income targets to ensure profitable working.
* Attending and contributing to team/practice area meetings and comply with directions/decisions made to ensure team objectives achieved.
* Keeping up to date with changes in relevant law and practice and attend appropriate training events to ensure up to date legal knowledge and best practice.
Employment Screening

Qualifications & Experience
* Proven case handling experience at Grade C - D level, in either a Paralegal or Case Handler role.
* Experience within Medical Negligence would be an advantage, particularly with lower value or varied claims; however, we also welcome applicants with experience in other areas of law, who are looking to apply their existing skills in a new rewarding specialism.
* You will bring maturity, resilience, and a genuine commitment to delivering excellent client care.
* Demonstrable experience in working to time recording and fee income targets.
* The ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion and sensitivity when supporting clients through challenging situations.
* Highly organised and proactive, with excellent workload and prioritisation skills.
* A friendly, enthusiastic and can‑do approach, with a positive can‑do attitude.
* Strong relationship building skills with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
