Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and highly organised Medical Secretary to join the General Respiratory team at Wythenshawe Hospital. The working hours are 28 per week, over 5 days.

Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to consultants and the wider clinical team.
* Audio typing, proof reading, transcribe and proofread medical letters and reports, ensuring all deadlines are met.
* Process, sort, and distribute incoming mail (electronic and paper), ensuring relevant documentation is available for review.
* Manage referrals, ensuring timely prioritisation and compliance with targets such as cancer pathways.
* Coordinate appointments, investigations, and urgent admissions as required.
* Support waiting list management alongside clinical teams and clerks.
* Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and timely filing of results and documentation.
* Handle telephone queries promptly and communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals.
* Assist with diary management and the organisation of meetings.
* Provide professional and caring communication with patients, ensuring information is clear and appropriately delivered.
* Support the Team Leader with induction and training of new staff as required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, a high level of attention to detail, and experience in a similar role. Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous and a professional approach to patient communication is essential.
