Senior Flight Controls Systems Engineer - New Aircraft iO Associates is proud to partner with a leading aerospace innovator seeking a Senior Flight Controls Systems Engineer to drive the development, integration, and certification of advanced flight control systems for a new next-generation aircraft. As a key member of a high‑performance engineering team, you will define, coordinate, and deliver system-level requirements, architectures, and interfaces for the new aircraft's flight control systems. Requirements 8 years in aerospace or aviation flight control systems engineering Strong background in definition and management of requirements, system architecture, integration, verification, and validation of complex aircraft systems. Proven experience with aerospace regulatory standards and certification frameworks (FAA/EASA), including DO‑178C, DO‑254, ARP4754, and related guidance. Proficiency with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, SysML-based modeling, and simulation environments. Fluency in English Responsibilities Lead system‑level requirements analysis, architecture definition, and design activities for aircraft flight control systems, ensuring alignment with customer needs, regulations, and program goals. Define and manage system-level requirements, interfaces, and traceability across subsystems and verification activities. Coordinate integration of subsystems within the aircraft architecture, ensuring interface compatibility, performance, and issue resolution across interacting systems. Develop and execute verification and validation plans, including simulations, analyses, and tests to confirm system performance, safety, and compliance. Review test results, address deviations, and drive corrective actions or design updates. Conduct safety assessments such as FMEA/FTA, ensure adherence to FAA/EASA regulations, and support certification documentation and reviews. Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams and promote cross‑functional collaboration to meet program milestones. Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and prepare key technical documentation, including specifications, design reports, and test plans. Communicate project status, risks, and major milestones to senior leadership and stakeholders.
