We’re looking for a skilled and detail-focused Panel Designer.
This role is for someone who understands control systems and panel layouts.
You will work on projects across the wastewater and recycling sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop control panels from concept to completion
* Produce schematic and GA drawings using AutoCAD Electrical (or similar)
* Specify appropriate components and ensure compatibility with site/client requirements
* Liaise with internal engineering, manufacturing, and site teams
* Ensure designs comply with current electrical standards (e.g., BS EN 61439)
* Support workshop build teams during panel assembly when required
* Create documentation for panel testing, installation, and operation
✅ Required Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience designing industrial control panels
* Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout
* Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical (or similar design software)
* Good understanding of electrical standards and safe working practices
* Ability to work from P&IDs, specifications, and project briefs
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
➕ Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience in the wastewater or environmental sector
* Familiarity with PLC I/O allocation, VSDs, and remote telemetry
* Understanding of IP ratings, heat dissipation, and enclosure types
* Site commissioning or installation experience (advantageous)
* Knowledge of safety circuit design and SIL standards
* Knowledge of machinery safety and CE/UKCA marking
* Familiarity with Schneider, Siemens, or Allen-Bradley hardware
* Ability to create technical documents and manuals
