A large organisation based in South Wales.
Your new role
The role focusses on deploying Fortinet infrastructure, including Fortigate firewalls, Fortiswitches, and FortiManager. You will lead the network deployment, ensure alignment across business teams, and build strong internal relationships to provide a smooth handover once the implementation isplete.
Key Responsibilities
1. Creating Implementation plans using the LLD provided, planning, and installing local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN)
2. Implementing firewalls, switches, taps and centralised mgmt. As required on 2 new sites
3. Testing new implementations and monitoring network performance, analysing data, and performing updates as required to ensure the best possible delivery.
4. Following the successful build of 2 new DC’s, there will be a migration exercise out of the existing DC.
5. Review and apply necessary FW changes following the change process.
6. Diagnosing, fixing, and documenting hardware and software issues
7. Providing technical overview documentation for internal support teams
8. Provide internal network team detailed handovers to enable a smooth transition into BAU support.
9. You will be expected to attend the site for the implementation and design sessions as required.
What you'll need to succeed
10. Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), routing, switching, and security principles.
11. Experience working with network hardware (Fortinet (Essential), Cisco, Juniper, etc.) and software-defined networking (SDN).
12. Ability to analyse data traffic and troubleshoot network issues efficiently.
13. Experience of implementing hardware from scratch and testing out appropriately.
14. Able & willing to travel to sites in South Wales, from Swansea to Newport.
