New Entrant Retention Advisor
CITB aims to lead the construction sector by example to ensure fairness, inclusion, and respect for all. We seek to develop an organisation which reflects Britain’s diverse population, and our main objective is to create a culture that enables our customers to strive towards an organisational community that is reflective of today’s society.
The NEST team delivers support to CITB registered employers to recruit and retain new entrants. This role is focused on keeping in touch with the employers we ensure retention support is provided where it’s most needed.
To support the NEST team nationally in making regular phone calls to ensure employers we are supporting are supported to retain their apprentices and other new entrants. Giving advice and guidance around retention, recommending support resources, triaging queries and making referrals to NEST Advisers for follow up support on a needs led basis.
2. Be responsible for target driven activity that increases retention amongst new entrants being trained for construction trades and professions through engagement with existing CITB registered employers and new registrations.
3. Manage a schedule of account management contact with employers who have recruited a new entrant to ensure support is available that increases retention and achievement rates of learners, and that generate referrals to the Customer Engagement Team that increase grant aided training uptake. On completion training, the last contact should evidence signposting to progression pathways.
4. Plan workload to ensure retention touch points are provided to a high volume of customers on a quarterly basis.
5. Ensure employers are claiming all funding support available including CITB Apprenticeship Grant, Travel to Train, Levy Transfer and any local initiative funding that may be available. In doing so reducing the number of rejected grant applications and increasing the speed at which grants are authorised.
6. Working collaboratively across CITB, making referrals and arranging support for customers from NEST Advisors, Engagement Advisors and the Levy or Grant team.
7. Educate employers on the benefits of recruiting an apprentice.
8. Use a sophisticated approach to understand the needs, goals and challenges of employers, and demonstrate the value that CITB can provide to them in order to set quality appointments and generate new business.
Share sales best practice, knowledge and experience with your wider team, helping to build skills and experience for team success.
Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of the CITB in order to refer customers to Engagement or product colleagues, to enhance the customer experience.
9. Maintain accurate and up to date records of customer engagement using CRM and other reporting tools as appropriate.
This role does not have any direct reports; however, it requires considerable self-management and motivation, management of a changeable employer caseload, along with management of a range of relationships with internal and external stakeholders, leading to collaborative and productive solutions.
