Job Title: Mandarin Speaking Teaching Assistant
Location: Milton Keynes
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Options for Full Time or 1 hour per day available
Salary: 90 - 100 per day dependant on experience
Here at Aspire People, we are seeking a Mandarin Speaking Teaching Assistant to join a diverse and inclusive secondary school. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and caring individual who can help support a student who speaks Mandarin as their first language, while also assisting more broadly across the curriculum. You will need to be able speak Mandarin to a conversational level whilst also being able to support them with their learning across the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to a Mandarin speaking pupil
Support generally in classes as well as in small group and 1:1 settings
Support the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons
Help the pupil to overcome language barriers and build confidence in English
Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
The ideal candidate will have:
Fluency in Mandarin (spoken is essential and written would be beneficial)
Good level of spoken and written English
Experience working with young people in an educational setting, such as a Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Youth Worker etc
A patient, supportive, and enthusiastic approach
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
