About Us
G4S Oakhill Secure Training Centre (STC) cares for children aged 12 to 18 years old who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention. The children in our care can be vulnerable and challenging, with a wide range of complex social and emotional needs. This environment demands high standards of social care and service delivery to provide a secure and stable environment for children to develop their life skills and address their previous behaviours. We aim to support change and learning.
We strive to help every child feel safe, offering opportunities to heal from trauma and develop a positive identity. We ensure our children have equal access and opportunities for change and are celebrated for their strengths. Our goal is to equip children for life emotionally, mentally, physically, and socially. We support their transition, whether returning to the community or moving to other custodial settings, working in partnership with families, significant others, and community organisations to develop a quality regime at the centre.
About the Role
We are expanding our Education team and seek a Teacher of Music to support and lead in delivering our NCFE Level 1 qualification in Music at Oakhill STC.
As a Teacher of Music, you will play a vital role in a child's learning, providing and delivering educational outcomes. This role offers a chance to make a real difference, motivating and inspiring children to succeed despite challenges, and providing hope through education.
Key responsibilities include:

* Providing regular feedback and tutorial support to maximize student benefits.
* Maintaining accurate course and student records.
* Managing qualifications and examinations processes, including liaising with relevant staff and external bodies.
* Promoting a positive Health & Safety culture, reporting incidents promptly, and following safety procedures.
* Performing additional tasks as necessary.
