The Role
As a Multi Skilled Building Services Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting critical infrastructure that underpins essential defence operations.
Day-to-day, you’ll deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring site services, plant, and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Provide maintenance support including installation, planned, preventive and corrective maintenance across site services, plant and buildings
2. Deliver specialist technical maintenance support on building plant and equipment
3. Prioritise work schedules to meet operational and business requirements
Support and participate in the on-call rota within the maintenance team
4. Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures and standards
5. Oversee contractors onsite and monitor performance against SLAs
Essential experience of the Multi Skilled Building Services Engineer:
6. Proven experience as an M&E or building services maintenance engineer
7. Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills across electrical systems
8. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
9. Experience managing or working alongside contractors and external suppliers
10. Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe systems of work
Essential qualifications for the Multi Skilled Building Services Engineer:
11. BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
12. City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing or equivalent
13. NVQ Level 3 / ONC / OND / BTEC Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
14. Full UK driving licence (essential)

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Pendine site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Set working times are 07:30 – 16:15 Monday to Thursday. On a 9-day fortnight, working 07:30 – 15:45 on the first Friday with the second Friday off. Alternatively, a half-day Friday working pattern may be considered each week.
Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected. Shift patterns for this role may include participation in an on-call rota and weekend working.

The QinetiQ Pendine facility, located on the coast of South Wales, is renowned for its extensive capabilities in testing and evaluating defence systems, particularly in the fields of weapons and vehicle performance. Pendine plays a critical role in the UK’s defence landscape providing essential services that contribute to the development and assurance of military hardware.
