Youth Support Worker
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £525 - £550 per week
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Type: Temporary to permanent
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.

The role
The Youth Support Worker will work within the classroom alongside a dedicated behavioural support team, providing learning support to students in a SEMH (Social Emotional, Mental Health) and EBD (Emotional, Behavioural Difficulties) pupil referral unit (PRU) in Chesterfield. Some pupils may also have needs such as ADHD, ODD, dyslexia, autism, mild learning difficulties, anxiety, and follow an EHCP. The role involves encouraging, supporting, and engaging with young people aged KS3/4 (years old) who are disengaged from education. Support will be provided in small groups, larger groups, or on a 1:1 basis, through sports-based P.E lessons or classroom activities like food technology, literacy, and numeracy. This is a full-time, temporary to permanent position.

Requirements
* Previous experience working with challenging behaviours is highly desirable.
* An enhanced DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply for one.
* Ability to work proactively and on initiative.
* Desirable: Team Teach Level 2 Trained or willingness to undertake the training free of charge through us.
* Driving licence and a car with business insurance are essential.
* Availability Monday to Friday.
