Job Description
PRG has partnered with a rapidly expanding Internet Service Provider (ISP) to support the buildout of a new fiber network. We are seeking technically savvy Construction Technicians to oversee and manage multiple field crews in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic infrastructure.
Each Construction Technician will manage three (3) OSP construction crews, ensuring projects operate at maximum efficiency and adhere to quality, safety, and performance standards. This is a hands-on role requiring strong field leadership, technical awareness, and the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams in real time.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily on-site fiber construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety requirements.
2. Coordinate and monitor three active OSP construction crews, verifying work quality, schedule adherence, and resource utilization.
3. Conduct daily reporting of installed fiber footage, permits, and project progress using internal tracking systems.
4. Review active permits and ensure compliance with local jurisdictional regulations and company safety policies.
5. Act as the primary on-site liaison between field crews, subcontractors, and company management.
6. Identify and address performance issues, personnel concerns, and customer complaints promptly and professionally.
7. Perform quality control inspections, documenting and correcting deficiencies or punch list items in real time.
8. Assist with job site surveys to determine optimal installation practices and resolve unforeseen challenges.
9. Maintain communication logs, material tracking, and field documentation for project reporting.
10. Ensure all crew members utilize appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and follow established safety standards.
Qualifications:
11. Previous experience in construction, telecom, or fiber optic (OSP) installation preferred.
12. Hands-on experience with fiber placement, conduit installation, trenching, and excavation a strong plus.
13. Proven ability to lead, coach, and coordinate field crews in a fast-paced construction environment.
14. Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to resolve on-site issues professionally.
15. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, permits, and design schematics.
16. Excellent organizational and documentation skills with a focus on detail and accountability.
17. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
18. Must be able to pass a background and DMV check prior to employment.
