The Role As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support pupils with additional needs. Your role may include providing one-to-one or small group support, assisting in lessons, and helping pupils access learning and school life fully. You will be integral in promoting independence, positive behaviour, and confidence. You will observe and monitor pupils’ progress, provide feedback to teachers, and assist in implementing interventions tailored to individual needs. Strong communication and collaboration with staff, parents, and external professionals are essential for success in this role.
