M&A Traffic Management Solutions Ltd are seeking a highly experienced, driven, and commercially minded General Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and operational performance of the business.
This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone who understands Traffic Management inside out and can oversee operations, people, compliance, and commercial performance across multiple contracts and regions. The General Manager will work closely with the Directors, acting as a trusted second-in-command and playing a key role in scaling the business while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
* Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of M&A Traffic Management Solutions Ltd.
* Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, maintaining strong, professional relationships and resolving issues proactively.
* Oversee delivery across all contracts, ensuring works are safe, compliant, efficient, and profitable.
* Lead, manage, and develop Project Managers, Supervisors, and operational teams.
* Ensure effective resource planning, including labour, plant, vehicles, and equipment across Scotland and Northern England.
* Maintain full compliance with Chapter 8, Lantra NHSS 12A/B & 12D, CDM Regulations, and client requirements.
* Monitor operational, safety, quality, and financial KPIs, reporting performance to the Directors.
* Oversee timesheets, productivity, invoicing accuracy, and cost control in conjunction with finance.
* Identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement, implementing systems and processes to support growth.
* Support tender submissions, mobilisation of new contracts, and onboarding of new clients.
* Drive company standards, culture, and accountability across all levels of the business.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven senior experience within the Traffic Management industry (General Manager, Contracts Manager, Operations Manager, or Senior Project Manager level).
* Strong working knowledge of NHSS 12A/B & 12D, Chapter 8, and TM operational best practice.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contracts, teams, and stakeholders simultaneously.
* Strong leadership and people-management skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
* Commercially aware, with experience managing margins, costs, and operational performance.
* Confident communicator, capable of dealing with clients, operatives, supervisors, managers and directors.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with TM systems, planning software, or AutoCAD advantageous.
* Full UK driving licence essential.
