My client is a market-leader in the shipping industry and has offices based across the world (in Germany, Spain, USA & more recently in the Far East). The client world leading 3rd party logistics business with over 55,000 employees across the Global. My client has a large 600,000 sq. ft. hub in the Swadlincote, Derbyshire. area with a mixed warehouse and transport function totalling 650 employees. Their transport function covers circa 150 drivers across a variety of loads across the UK and Europe
Job Description
As a Transport & Logistics Graduate you will be joining a team of 10x Transport Planning & Managerial professional, reporting into the Transport Planning Supervisor You will be responsible for the following areas in the Swadlincote, Derby office:
3. Day to day responsibilities will include the management of 20+ drivers and circa 3x office staff (including that of planning).
4. Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to proactively resolve challenges.
5. Handling customer enquiries via telephone and email, dealing with both inbound and outbound communication.
6. Daily checks on shipments to ensure they have been collected and delivered in line with Customer requirements.
7. Liaise with drivers & customer service teams regarding ETAs and problem solving.
8. Answering the telephone, general admin duties and assisting in the daily running of the office.
9. Checking the driver paperwork is accurate and correct.
10. Managing driver infringements, drivers hours, Tacho downloads and debriefs.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Transport & Logistics Graduate will first & foremost have a passion to join the Logistics & Supply Chain sectors, along with the following extra attributes:
11. A Degree (2:2 minimum) - ideally within a Logistics, Supply Chain or Business Focus
12. Work experience around the transport, logistics & supply chain sector would be advantageous, but not essential.
13. A flair for providing high levels of engagement and customer service to high-value accounts
14. The ability to commute to Swadlincote, Derby on a daily basis
