Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to support the co-ordination of care delivery within NUPAS Staffordshire/Midlands clinical services. The post holder will manage the clinical teams with the support of a Deputy and manage clinics to achieve group objectives and comply with corporate strategy, using the corporate framework to support the principle of the right of people to limit the size of their family.

Responsibilities
* Leadership
o Work with the Head of Nursing to lead and develop Nurse Led Clinics, including workforce planning.
o Develop a training plan to support Nurse Led Clinics, identify training needs through appraisal, and create a training programme to ensure staff reach their potential. Develop a competency assessment framework to support new roles and skills and ensure safe clinical service.
o Provide hands-on clinical care as appropriate and in liaison with the Regional Manager.
o Ensure clinical rotas are in place with adequately skilled staff; implement contingency plans as required.
o Identify gaps in skills and workforce and liaise with the Regional Manager and Head of Nursing to address them.
o Lead the development and implementation of guidelines, protocols and clinical policies and procedures, including rollout to clinical teams within the Staffordshire/Midlands region.
o Provide quality leadership to the clinical team and ensure they are responsible for their own learning and actions in the patient’s best interests.
o Ensure resources are used effectively, efficiently, and appropriately.
o Work with the Regional Manager to ensure clinics comply with Care Quality Commission (CQC) and RSOPs for termination services.
o Ensure clinics comply with Infection Control and Health and Safety regulations.
o Ensure service provision remains within financial parameters agreed.
* Patient Care
o Coordinate services across the region to deliver high standards of patient care and safety.
o Identify and escalate risks or safeguarding concerns to senior colleagues; actively work to reduce or eliminate concerns, applying safeguarding principles as needed.
o Implement care programs for patients in accordance with appropriate care pathways and evaluate effectiveness.
o Deliver safe and effective family planning and sexual health care.
o Respect patients’ dignity and rights at all times.
o Ensure complete and accurate patient documentation.
o Prepare treatment areas and equipment to ensure cleanliness, safety and operability.
o Ensure appropriate staffing levels with the right skills to provide patient care.
o Review patient questionnaire results with the Regional Manager to improve the service.
o Monitor clinics for effectiveness and compliance with statutory regulations.
* Clinical Practice
o Support clinical teams to provide information and support for informed patient choice; base nursing interventions on evidence-based practice.
o Ensure provision of specialist holistic care, supplying contraception and medicines per company policies.
o Support and develop clinical teams to apply correct protocols for patients of different ages and needs, considering safeguarding and mental capacity.
o Support clinical teams to provide necessary screening for sexually transmitted infections.
o Ensure all clinical team members practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct for qualified nursing staff.
* Professional Development
o Ensure compliance with statutory and mandatory training requirements for all clinical staff across the region.
o Provide induction, training and support to new staff and address development needs.
o Undertake appraisals with all clinical staff to identify development needs.
o Coordinate with the Regional Manager to identify learning needs and implement an effective training plan to support CPD.

Qualifications and Experience
Experience
* Essential: Ability to communicate effectively, manage challenging situations with sensitivity and confidentiality, work well in a multi-professional team and demonstrate leadership.
Desirable:
* Experience with Patient Group Directions, IT systems for client data, and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
Qualifications
* Essential: Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife; up-to-date knowledge/experience in sexual health/TOP/gynae services; ability to identify and escalate safeguarding concerns.
Desirable:
* Professional nurse education teaching qualifications; FSRH competencies; prescribing qualifications; ultrasound experience.
