Responsibilities
* Curriculum Leadership & Strategic Delivery – Lead the development and management of curriculum provision within a specialist area, ensuring programmes are high‑quality, industry‑aligned and support college strategic priorities.
* Teaching, Learning & Student Outcomes – Drive excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, using performance data to improve attendance, retention, achievement and progression outcomes.
* Curriculum Development & Employer Engagement – Design and enhance innovative, inclusive curriculum pathways that maximise employability and respond to employer and community needs.
* Staff Leadership, Performance & Development – Manage, develop and performance‑manage staff, ensuring effective recruitment, CPD, accountability and a high‑performing team culture.
* Quality Assurance, Compliance & Professional Practice – Lead quality assurance processes, contribute to self‑assessment and improvement plans, and ensure compliance with safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and college policies.
Qualifications
* Qualifications, Teaching & Quality Expertise – GCSE English and maths with a Level 3 specialist qualification, PGCE/Cert Ed and commitment to achieving Level 3 Management and Level 4 IQA qualifications.
* Teaching, Curriculum & Learner Outcomes – Proven experience delivering teaching across a range of programmes, contributing to curriculum development and using data to improve learner achievement, retention and progress.
* Quality Assurance, Compliance & Ofsted Awareness – Strong knowledge of awarding body requirements, inspection frameworks and quality processes (SAR/QIP, IV), ensuring compliant and high‑quality provision.
* Data, Organisation & Continuous Improvement – Highly organised with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to coordinate multiple activities, monitor performance and drive improvements through data insights.
* Leadership, Professional Practice & Values – Effective communicator and collaborator, committed to safeguarding, equality and college values, with a proactive, reflective approach and flexibility to work across sites and demands.
