Offer description

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Emergency Department, to support a wide range of shifts. West Suffolk Hospital Emergency Department has recently expanded, creating its own Majors Assessment Area and a Rapid Assessment Area to meet patient needs and optimise service delivery. The department includes Acute Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) and Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs) who can see, treat and discharge their own patients, supporting the medical ED team.

Following a CQC inspection in 2019, the Emergency Department received an overall rating of “Good”. We value our nursing team at every grade and recognise the unique skills and experience that Band 6 staff bring to the team. Our ideal candidate has a strong desire to deliver high quality ED nursing care as part of a motivated team.

The post holder will prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care to an agreed and high standard. They will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. They will act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students. They will participate fully in a structured competency-based programme while working in all areas of the Emergency Department.

Join us at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. By us. By our patients. By our community.
