Job Title: Senior Technician Salary: £40,000 Location: Milton Keynes Secor: Automotive Contract: Permanent Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Technician to support the assembly and development of e-motors and inverters within a high-performance engineering environment. This role combines hands-on build responsibility with process development, continuous improvement, and mentoring of junior team members. Key Responsibilities: Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly in line with build schedules, SOPs, and production systems Perform testing, measurement, and accurate recording of production data Support the development and optimisation of build processes and assembly instructions Assist Manufacturing Engineers with SOP creation and continuous improvement activities Investigate faults and support strip-down analysis of failed units Ensure tooling and equipment are maintained, calibrated, and fit for purpose Contribute to quality, safety, and audit processes (including 6S and safety observations) Mentor and train team members to enhance capability and performance Support KPI reporting and departmental performance tracking Requirements: Relevant mechanical or electrical qualification Minimum 5 years experience in an engineering workshop (automotive, aerospace, or motorsport) Strong mechanical assembly experience to high standards Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Good IT skills (Microsoft Office) and strong numeracy/literacy Proven problem-solving ability and proactive approach to continuous improvement Desirable: Experience with electrical testing, including high-voltage systems Understanding of electrical circuits Familiarity with 3D CAD viewing software Working Hours: Monday Thursday: 7:00am 4:00pm | Friday: 7:00am 12:00pm
