Senior Data Engineer – National Security Projects
Location: Leeds (Hybrid, 3 days in-office)
We're hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join a high-performing digital delivery team within a major consultancy’s tech venture, working on secure, large-scale projects in the national security space.
You’ll design and build data pipelines in cloud environments, apply best practices in engineering, and collaborate with analysts and developers to deliver robust, secure, and scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain data pipelines using Python, SQL, Spark, Scala
* Develop within cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
* Work with modern databases (Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL)
* Apply strong data security and architectural principles
* Collaborate in agile, cross-functional teams
What We're Looking For:
* Hands-on experience in cloud-based data engineering
* Strong problem-solving and system design skills
* Knowledge of data platforms (e.g. DataBricks, Quantexa, Palantir) is a plus
* Interest in automation, machine learning, or open-source tools is beneficial
Security Clearance:
Due to project requirements, you must be eligible for UK National Security Vetting (typically 5+ years’ UK residency and UK nationality or dual nationality).
