An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and knowledgeable midwife to lead digital transformation within maternity services, working alongside the Senior Midwife for Clinical Informatics. The post holder will play a key role in a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and professionals, ensuring the successful implementation and safe utilisation of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board digital maternity record system and other digital transformation workstreams within the wider Clinical Informatics team.

You will join the Clinical Informatics team at an exciting time, shaping the future of digital maternity services and influencing broader digital transformation across the Health Board. The role will involve enhancing digital literacy, supporting system implementation, ensuring data integrity, and providing assurance of high-quality, safe, and effective maternity care.

Main duties of the job

The Post holder will use their specialist knowledge and experience, alongside digital skills, to test, develop and configure systems. They will also be required to provide clinical advice to the programme lead.

A key element will be to assist the Senior Midwife for Clinical Informatics and participate in informing and contributing to the pre implementation planning and delivery plans for the system. They will demonstrate the system, promote the benefits of the system and work with the informatics team to ensure that the system is implemented in a safe and timely manner.

The post holder will support the team and Senior Midwife for Clinical Informatics, providing specialist clinical knowledge and facilitating training and support for end users.

The post holder will work to support clinical shift working patterns over a 7 day period and is expected to work in a variety of clinical settings including inpatient wards.

Person Specification

Knowledge

* Evidence of MSc study or equivalent
* Quality improvement understanding
* Change management
* Clinical informatics education /courses

Experience

* Delivering teaching and education
* Experience of delivering educational sessions
* Detailed understanding of IT skills
* Experience of undertaking research projects
* Working at an all Wales level/ collaboration


Person Specification


Experience

* Extensive post-registration experience including experience in a management/leadership role
* Experience of conducting clinical audit and using measurable outcomes to inform practice development
* Experience of developing and undertaking research projects


Knowledge

* Extensive knowledge of quality Improvement methodologies and application to practice
* A detailed understanding of IT skills
* Post-registration facilitation course
