I'm currently working with a fast‑paced and growing fresh produce business that operates at the heart of a highly time‑sensitive supply chain. They deal with perishable products where quality, speed, and precision are critical, supplying customers with fresh goods on a daily basis. It's an environment where no two days are the same, and where strong coordination between teams is essential to keep everything running smoothly.
About The Role
This is not a typical stock control position. You'll sit at the centre of the operation, balancing incoming raw materials with daily customer orders to ensure consistent supply.
* You’ll manage stock as it arrives in raw form, assessing quality and converting this into the correct format to fulfil demand.
* With a large proportion of orders already pre‑packed, your focus will be on allocating remaining stock, identifying shortfalls, and resolving issues in real time.
* Working closely with procurement and third‑party hauliers, you’ll be responsible for chasing deliveries, monitoring what’s coming in versus what’s required, and ensuring stock is available when needed.
* You’ll also manage rotation, minimise waste, and flag any risks early to avoid disruption.
* You’ll act as the link between procurement and operations, managing expectations on both sides in a fast‑moving environment.
About You
* A logical thinker who enjoys working with numbers and solving problems
* Confident managing stock, conversions, and short shelf‑life products
* Comfortable working under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
* Strong communicator, able to work across multiple teams
* Proactive, with the ability to spot issues early and act on them
Experience in stock control, inventory management, or supply chain coordination will be highly beneficial.
