Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and experience in food preparation, alongside excellent team management skills. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, supervising the cooking staff and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising Kitchen staff.
* Oversee food preparation and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
* Collaborate with the Kitchen team to create innovative menus that reflect current trends.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently.
* Help manage food costs by minimising waste and optimising ingredient usage.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
* Strong culinary skills with a passion for food preparation and presentation.
* Excellent supervisory skills with experience in team management.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively lead the kitchen team.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
