Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides everyday banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The bank's expertise spans Business Services, Corporate Banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail, and Investment Banking.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS is looking for a Senior Data Analyst (Python - Snowflake) for a 6-month contract based in London (Hybrid - 2 days in the office per week).
Purpose of the role:
We seek an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our client's Balance Sheet Management team. This role is crucial in delivering detailed insights into customer behavior through enriched, application-level data. You will extract and transform data into actionable insights to support decision-making and operational improvements.
What you'll do:
1. Develop and maintain a unified source of enriched application-level data for use across Finance, Treasury, and Pricing functions.
2. Design and implement robust data pipelines leveraging existing data feeds from Pricing, Finance, and the PI CoE.
3. Translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable code using Python, PySpark, and CI/CD best practices.
4. Provide actionable insights into customer behaviors, including hopping, drawdown patterns, and speed to drawdown.
5. Enable strategic and operational decision-making through accurate, timely, and behavioral insights.
6. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to inform business responses to emerging customer trends.
The skills you'll need:
1. Proven experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer within the banking or financial services sector.
2. Strong programming skills in Python, Snowflake, and PySpark, with experience in building reusable analytics libraries.
3. Hands-on experience working in big data environments and with application-level datasets.
4. Solid understanding of CI/CD processes, version control (Git), and deployment pipelines.
5. Experience with interest rate risk management and an understanding of treasury/ALM functions.
