The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as an Finance & Data Business Analyst with the Finance Division.
This position serves as a Finance and Data Business Analyst responsible for supporting the Finance Division with data analytics, business process automation, and the current and future state Financial ERP systems.
This includes supporting implementation, optimization, quality control, and ongoing operations of the Workday Financials system.
The role ensures Workday delivers accurate, compliant, and efficient financial processes by configuring business rules, workflows, security roles, and integrations; managing Worktags and data governance structures; validating data; and supporting enterprise reporting and analytics.
The Business Analyst serves as a liaison between Finance, IT, functional staff in Finance, and data owners to ensure Workday’s configuration aligns with business requirements, internal controls, and data quality expectations.
This position plays a critical role in Workday business process design, system testing, data migration, Worktag governance, and analytics/reporting. The Analyst will review and analyze financial data to provide actionable insights for operational efficiency and strategic decision making.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience in finance, specifically in analyzing complex datasets to draw actionable conclusions and recommendations, as well as preparing detailed reports.
Considerable knowledge of SQL, Python, Power Apps, or other analytical tools and methods used for data manipulation and automation.
Considerable experience developing reports, dashboards, and metrics to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Considerable experience supporting data governance standards, data quality monitoring, and data documentation.
Considerable experience designing and implementing processes and procedures for advanced financial analysis, including statistical and quantitative methods, using Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
Considerable experience communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including demonstrated ability to prepare and present written and oral reports on complex financial issues.
Experience providing training, guidance, and end-user support to ensure proper system adoption and compliance with governance standards.
Experience with collaborating and communicating effectively with Finance, Internal IT, data owners, and SaaS vendors to align system configuration with business requirements.
Additional Considerations
Possess or be willing to obtain a Workday Pro Certification in Financials, Reporting, or Integrations.
