We have an exciting opportunity to join Marsh as a Data Analyst for Marine, Cargo & Logistics specialty division of Marsh Risk. This is a full‑time, hybrid working role based at our Marsh UK – Birmingham office, with periodic travel to the Marsh UK – London office. The role is UK‑focused, with responsibility for coordinating and aligning data and analytical activity across the Global Marsh Marine network.
Role Overview
You will be relied upon to support UK & Global – Marine, Cargo & Logistics broking teams by producing timely, validated analytics and operating AI‑enabled workflows that help deliver superior client outcomes, aligning standards across the Marsh Marine network.

* You will be a key member of the Marine Data & Analytics team during a period of rapid modernization of core working processes and uncover insight from information collected from clients, insurers and broker trading activities.
* You will have access to and exploration of emerging marine/logistics industry‑relevant tools from third‑party vendors to support adoption of digital‑first solutions.
* You will be encouraged to undertake additional training, including a Multiverse‑delivered data apprenticeship qualification.
Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted custodian of the Target Operating Model (TOM) for Data & Analytics projects, as defined by the core Marine Data & Analytics implementation team in consultation with technical Centres of Excellence across the wider Marsh group.
* Monitor the inflow of key documentation and data feeds, intervene where necessary, coach local and international contacts to facilitate effective relationships, and prioritize cooperative problem‑solving wherever practicable.
* Serve as the first line of contact for marine vessel screening and other analytical queries, escalating to appropriate colleagues and senior management as required.
* Take on “Super User” responsibilities for dashboards and platforms developed with internal and external teams and providers.
* Develop and test dashboards for broader business use, gather feedback for enhancements, and contribute to discussions regarding the product development roadmap.
* Collaborate with other data and analytics teams across the Marsh business to uncover opportunities to establish best practices wherever attainable.
Qualifications
* Degree in a business, scientific, or mathematical subject area, or equivalent demonstrable analytics experience or certifications (e.g., Coursera/Datacamp, Microsoft/PowerBI).
* Proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on MS Excel and PowerPoint.
* Experience with data visualisation tools such as Qlik, PowerBI, or Tableau.
* Ability to adapt rapidly to learn new tools and processes, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
* Willingness to immerse yourself in the marine insurance sector and navigate complex activities with curiosity and enthusiasm.
