Job Description:
Summary:
Reporting directly to the Head of Municipal Projects, the role requires a proven track record in managing the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) aspects of complex Water or Wastewater projects. The candidate should have experience across all EPC phases, as this is a comprehensive "cradle to grave" role.
Having delivered numerous projects for municipal water companies and preparing for a significant volume of work in AMP 8, Nijhuis Sauer Industries UK (NSI UK) seeks an enthusiastic project manager to join their team.
NSI UK maintains an established supply chain and aims to enhance safety, quality, and schedule performance during AMP8.
Key Responsibilities:
General Management
* Manage portfolios or individual projects from sales to handover, ensuring smooth operation, high quality, budget adherence, and schedule compliance.
* Maintain high safety and environmental standards.
* Utilize technical expertise effectively.
* Oversee design, procurement, and construction processes.
* Produce regular reports for senior management.
* Oversee project timelines and budgets.
Client Relations
* Build and maintain relationships with client managers.
* Provide project reports and briefings to client management.
Technical Skills
* Possess engineering knowledge relevant to project scope.
* Read and analyze project schedules (Primavera P6).
* Manage project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
* Ensure procurement aligns with project schedules and protects NSI UK’s interests.
* Conduct financial reviews and forecast project outcomes.
* Ensure technical solutions are consistent throughout the project lifecycle.
* Capture and apply lessons learned and best practices.
* Develop and coordinate project management documentation.
* Support innovation and value engineering.
* Coordinate with construction teams on site management.
* Manage scope changes per contractual requirements.
SHEQ Responsibilities
* Ensure safety KPIs and KPIs are met.
* Monitor supply chain performance against KPIs.
* Implement initiatives to improve SHEQ behaviors.
Qualifications
* Minimum HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* At least five years’ experience in design and build projects in the water industry.
* Strong communication skills and positive leadership.
* Experience with MEICA disciplines.
* Commitment to continuous improvement.
* Knowledge of NEC 4 contracts.
* Certifications: SMSTS, CSCS.
