American Machining & Fabrication, a well-established production company, is seeking an experienced Manual Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating manual lathes, drill presses, and manual mills. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
* Set up, operate, and maintain manual lathes, drill presses, and manual mills.
* Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and production orders to determine specifications and tolerances.
* Select the appropriate cutting tools and materials for each job, ensuring proper setup and adjustments.
* Perform in-process inspections to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish.
* Monitor machine operation, making necessary adjustments to optimize production and minimize scrap.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations.
* Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues as they arise.
* Collaborate with supervisors, quality control personnel, and other team members to achieve production goals.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience operating manual lathes, drill presses, and manual mills in a production environment.
* Strong knowledge of machine shop practices, cutting tools, and materials.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and production orders.
* Familiarity with precision measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
* Strong attention to detail and precision.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
