We are looking for enthusiastic Band 5 nurses to join our new team in the brand new Endoscopy Digestive Diseases Unit at Eastbourne. You will be trained in the admission, assisting with procedure, recovery and discharge for patients having endoscopic procedures such as OGD, colonoscopy and Flexible Sigmoidoscopy. You will gain skills in cannulation, recovering patients’ sedation, giving advice post procedure and obtaining knowledge on different endoscopic procedures carried out in the department.
This post would suit both newly qualified and experienced Band 5 we would offer you in return a thorough induction with support for you to gain competencies and skills to be successful in the post.
It may be necessary for you to receive your training at our acute endoscopy units based at Conquest and Eastbourne Hospitals, these sites are JAG accredited. You will be working within the team to ensure the new unit works to JAG accreditation standards.
You will be part of the team supporting patients during their procedure and recovery, admission and discharge, offering advice and guidance, health promotion and supporting patients with potential cancer diagnosis.

To work as a core member of the Endoscopy team and in partnership with patients, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team in assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating high quality care, ensuring patients have a positive experience.
