Salary: Grade 11, SCP 33-35, pro-rata to £43,991 - £45,945

Job Overview
An Occupational Therapist (OT) is required to work within a multi-disciplinary team at St Nicholas School. The post involves progressing OT-specific therapeutic services for individuals with varying levels of functioning, many with autism and associated needs such as complex trauma and learning disabilities. The approach is systemic and formulation-based.
You will be part of a team including Speech and Language Therapists, behaviour support, external therapists, and an onsite Occupational Therapy Assistant. An integrated, holistic approach to care, education, and clinical services is essential.

About the School
St Nicholas School is a community special school for 276 pupils aged 4-11 with MLD, SLD, ASD, speech and language needs, Down's syndrome, and complex needs. We offer bespoke education with state-of-the-art facilities, small class sizes, and highly qualified staff.
Main Duties
1. Work with children with moderate to severe learning disabilities, including ASD, Down Syndrome, and ADHD.
2. Plan and deliver various therapeutic approaches tailored to individual needs.
3. Provide therapy on a 1:1, small group, and classroom basis.
4. Collaborate with the therapy team, including Speech and Language Therapists and external providers.
5. Work closely with teachers and TAs in classroom and other settings.
6. Provide training to staff and parents.
7. Report to the Band 8 Speech and Language Therapy/Therapies Lead.

Essential Criteria
* Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification.
* Registered with HCPC and RCOT.
* Awareness of sensory integration approaches; qualification preferred.
* Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.
* Ability to work collaboratively and sensitively.
* Professional development evidence.
* Post-qualification experience, including with adults.
* Skills in data management.
* Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
