Position: Station Workshops Welder/Fabricator (Permanent, Full-time)
Schedule: Mon – Fri, 37 hours per week
Salary: £35,891.79 Per Annum Plus Benefits
Employer: Serco, providing multi-activity and engineering support to the RAF and MoD since 1997. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, with on-site services delivered by Serco across engineering, fuelling, ground control, and more. The site hosts approximately 5,800 service personnel, 1,200 contractors and 300 civil servants.
Main Duties
* Delivery of Serco Station Workshops Engineering Services.
* Provide a focal point of contact for the Serco Brize Norton Station Workshops Engineering Supervisor and the RAF Brize Norton to ensure effective delivery of Serco Station Workshops.
* Welder/Fabricator output – ensure that products and services meet required standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
* Provide weld/fabrication activities and output ensuring effective, efficient, right-first-time delivery to customers.
* Ensure all work is correctly certified and that records of work are retained safely for the statutory period.
* Remain authorised, competent, and qualified to plan, perform, supervise, inspect, certify, and complete tasks.
* Maintain up-to-date records of training and experience for review.
* Comply with work procedures and current regulatory requirements, including the Serco Management System, MoD legislation, BSI ISO, HASAW Act, and local Serco/RAF Brize Norton processes.
What You Need To Do The Role
* Welding: BTEC ONC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* Welder/Fabricator experience: fabrication and repair of items using engineering drawings, MIG/TIG processes, and oxygen/acetylene for soldering/brazing/cutting.
* Ability to implement and apply relevant Government, MoD, Serco, and RAF Brize Norton processes and procedures.

MoD Security Clearance: All employees are required to obtain SC clearance. If successful, Serco supports the SC process. Typically, UK residency for the last 5 consecutive years is required.
All Serco employees may be subject to drug and alcohol testing. Weld testing may be required biannually for competency assessment.
