About the Role
We’re seeking enthusiastic individuals with a strong background in sport to join our team as Unqualified Teaching Assistants in primary and secondary schools both mainstream and SEN provisions in Bridgend. No formal teaching qualifications are required — just a love for sport, a positive attitude, and a desire to make a difference.
You’ll support pupils in the classroom and during physical education sessions, helping to promote teamwork, discipline, and confidence through sport. This is a fantastic entry point into education for anyone considering a future in teaching, coaching, or youth work.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons
* Support pupils with learning and behaviour in and out of the classroom
* Lead small group activities and help with one-to-one support
* Encourage participation, resilience, and healthy lifestyles
* Be a role model for enthusiasm, respect, and teamwork
* Supporting students with SEBD, ASD, ADHD, and other ALN needs
What We’re Looking For
* A background in sport (e.g., coaching, playing, fitness, or youth clubs)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
* Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
* Enhanced DBS on the update Service (We can help you apply!)
* Education Workforce Council application (We can help you apply!)
* 2 referee’s which can provide references
