Payroll Officer
Hertfordshire (Hybrid – 3 days office)
£32,000–£35,000
Contract: Permanent
The Role
A bureau-based payroll role managing multiple client payrolls end-to-end within a well-established and supportive team.
You will be responsible for delivering accurate, compliant payroll services while building strong client relationships and supporting a varied client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Process end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of clients
* Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and regulations
* Maintain and update payroll records accurately
* Prepare payroll reports and submissions
* Manage auto-enrolment and statutory requirements
* Handle payroll queries from clients and stakeholders
* Work collaboratively within the payroll team to meet deadlines
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience in a payroll bureau environment (essential)
* Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, and pensions
* Experience managing multiple client payrolls
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong communication and client-facing ability
* Eager to learn and develop within payroll
* CIPP qualification or equivalent experience desirable
