The University invites applications for the above full-time post which is available immediately. We are seeking outstanding applicants with an established research and teaching record in the areas of Sensors and Electronics. Well established experience in both theoretical and practical research is desirable. The successful candidate will be joining the School of Engineering at the University of Manchester, the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and the Sensors and Electronics research group within this. The Sensors and Electronics research group works ‘from silicon to cloud’, with group members working on diverse topics ranging from clean room fabrication of semiconductor devices, to PCB and Integrated Circuit design, to real-time AI system development.
We are seeking candidates with research portfolios which broadly align with one (or more) of the areas, in order to complement and consolidate our activities in:
* Bio/biomedical engineering
* Electromagnetic sensing
* Neuromorphic engineering
* Non-destructive testing
. This might encompass a range of technical areas, including but not limited to:
* Edge and embodied AI
* Electronic system design, implementation and testing
* Embedded systems design and development
* Hardware secure electronics
* Integrated circuit design (both ASIC and FPGA)
* Optoelectronics
* Sensor design and verification
* Sustainable electronics
The successful applicant will be expected to teach in a range of electronics and electronics-related areas, including but not limited to fundamental electronic principles, and advanced aspects of analogue and digital system design.
