Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pharmacy Team at Kingsway, working across our new mental health inpatient wards opening soon onsite, as well as established wards at the Radbourne unit.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Medicines Management Technician to support the pharmacy department's safe, effective, and responsive pharmaceutical supply services within Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Main Duties of the Job
* Support a high-quality medicine management service that is accurate, effective, efficient, and safe for all wards.
* Reconcile all new inpatient admissions in accordance with national and local policies.
* Order medicines promptly for patients within the Trust.
* Collaborate closely with the Dispensary team to support medication supplies to wards.
* Provide medicines information and support to patients and carers to optimize treatment outcomes.
* Complete pharmacy audits as scheduled, ensuring governance standards are met and action plans are followed.
* Conduct regular dispensing and accuracy checks within the dispensary.
* Travel independently between sites; travel costs will be reimbursed.
Additional Responsibilities
* Conduct regular ward visits.
* Perform medicine reconciliation and check PODs.
* Complete the Discharge Medicines Service (DMS) dashboard.
* Provide patient counselling.
* Manage inpatient and stock top-ups.
* Carry out accuracy checking of medicines, with training provided if not already qualified.

Location
This position is based at Kingsway Hospital, Derby.
Qualifications
You will have a BTEC Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science and an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Skills or equivalent.
