Team members have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge around a wide range of issues including Care Act Assessments, Court of Protection, Safeguarding enquiries, Continuing Health Care, Risk Assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest Decisions. You will work within the legislation of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and the Mental Health Act in order to deliver personalised assessment, support planning and reviews following a strengths-based approach. This will include working with partner agencies and ensuring holistic outcomes. As a valued member of the team you will be fully supported with your individual case management caseload.

The role
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic people who can commit to work and train as apprentice social workers, starting in September 2026. These roles will be full-time (37 hours a week) with opportunities in our assessment and care management teams. You will undertake the taught element of your degree apprenticeship with the University of Lancashire, with a combination of online and in-person learning.
What's needed?
You will already have significant experience in social care, or a related field. You will be skilled in building relationships with adults of all ages who have care and support needs, and their carers.
You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to work in a way that supports people to identify what is working for them and to use their strengths and assets. You will have the aptitude to develop skills in assessing needs and risks, as well as planning to achieve the person’s agreed outcomes. You will be able to work flexibly and effectively with a range of statutory and community organisations. You will also have good time management and organisational skills.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
