Job Description:
St Andrew’s Healthcare is a charity with an excellent reputation as a provider of specialist mental healthcare. We transform the lives of people with the greatest mental health needs. Throughout our 180-year history, we have helped society’s most vulnerable people and continue to build world-class mental healthcare services. Our commitment to holistic care, safety, recovery, and innovative therapies makes St Andrew’s the ideal place to advance your career.
St Andrew’s Birmingham is a 124-bed adult mental healthcare facility in Stirchley, South Birmingham, comprising eight wards covering medium and low security. Currently, 7 wards serve men and 1 for women.
St Andrew’s Birmingham is a core partner of the West Midlands Provider Collaborative (REACH OUT), working with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust and Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust. This partnership aims to provide high-quality care close to home and is recognized as a leading New Care Model, highly commended by the Health Service Journal.
The role
We seek an exceptional candidate to lead the development of Saint Andrew’s Birmingham Secure Services and become an integral part of the REACH OUT partnership. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team, shape services through strategic decisions, improvement projects, and collaboration with NHS partners.
You will have opportunities to undertake research projects as part of our commitment to innovation and world-class care. Currently, the vacancy is in Low Secure Services, but flexibility is available for the right candidate.
The Birmingham site offers an excellent opportunity to deliver value-based healthcare focusing on clinical outcomes, utilizing data based on International Consortium of Health Outcome Measures to continually improve patient care. We also lead in using data to inform safety and care.
Applicants must have MRCPsych or equivalent and hold a CCT in Forensic or General Adult Psychiatry.
The post requires on-call duties on a rota basis (currently one week in 6 weeks).
The role offers a competitive salary, travel allowance, NHS-style sickness policy, 41 days annual leave, car lease scheme, free parking, cycle-to-work scheme, relocation allowance (subject to status), ongoing CPD, and more.
